A Cereal Comparison that May Surprise You

Do your parents always make you buy the fruit version of Special K Cereal? Well it isn’t always better for you.

We looked at two kinds of Special K cereal: chocolatey delight, which has 11 grams of sugar, and fruit and yogurt, which has 13 grams. So if you prefer the chocolate version, buy it (or don’t).

Also, in the fruit and yogurt brand, we found six sugar ingredients. They include, but are not limited to, sugar, brown sugar, and confectioners glaze.

    What you don’t see is what your body converts to sugar…..its all corn which is a grain. So not just added sugar, but what your body converts to sugar…….bad, bad, bad. Read SugarBusters! Grains, Corn, bread, pasta, your body converts to sugar and insulin is produced. Once insulin is present in the body, brain signals body to store what you just ate as fat.

      Interesting! I was not aware of this when I wrote my natural vs. added sugar post. So from what I understand now, your body converts grains into sugar, and then to fat.
      However, after reading some Sugar Busters, I noticed that it specifically said white bread and white rice. I want to point out that in our post, we said whole wheat bread and brown rice, which don’t produce as much insulin.
