Bloomberg’s Unpopular Ban

I’m going to be honest with you:  I’ve always thought that the New York City Soda Ban made sense from a health standpoint.

I guess that’s because my addiction to sugary drinks once had me weighing about 245 pounds.

And given the fact that 24% of all New Yorkers are obese — which is one medical step BEYOND overweight — It’s probably time for SOMETHING to change.

But then I stumbled across this statistic:  60% of New Yorkers are OPPOSED to Bloomberg’s ban.

If the majority of the people who live in a city are opposed to the ideas put forward by the government, should the government REALLY have the right to move forward with them anyway?
