I’m going to be honest with you: I’ve always thought that the New York City Soda Ban made sense from a health standpoint.
I guess that’s because my addiction to sugary drinks once had me weighing about 245 pounds.
And given the fact that 24% of all New Yorkers are obese — which is one medical step BEYOND overweight — It’s probably time for SOMETHING to change.
But then I stumbled across this statistic: 60% of New Yorkers are OPPOSED to Bloomberg’s ban.
If the majority of the people who live in a city are opposed to the ideas put forward by the government, should the government REALLY have the right to move forward with them anyway?
