The amount of sugar in this delicious Blizzard will certainly give you chills.

So, we’ve made blogs about about Dairy Queen Blizzards in the past, but we’ve realized that we’ve only covered the mini-sized one. Recently, we have found how much sugars are in a large blizzard, and it will give you some mad frostbite.

There is a whopping 111 grams of sugar in a Large Oreo Blizzard (17.6 oz.) There is also 1016 calories, which will take about 5 hours of walking to burn off! You guys may love your blizzards but is it really worth 4 and a half days of sugar AND half of your daily calories?

Binge Eating Ben and Jerrys

I know we have done other posts on Ben and Jerry’s but the only flavor we have compared is Vanilla. Now it is time to compare more flavors… let’s get into it!

So the flavors we will be comparing are Chocolate Fudge, Strawberry Cheesecake, Cherry Garcia, Chocolate, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Peanut Butter, and Phish Food.

(I know what you are thinking, PHISH FOOD?!? Look it up, it’s seems good.)

Since we are not made of cash, we cannot actually buy all of the flavors — but we used our trusty calorieking.com to do our research. Here we go!

Chocolate Fudge has 27 grams of sugar per serving.

Strawberry Cheesecake has 22 grams of sugar per serving.

Cherry Garcia has 23 grams of sugar per serving.

Plain Chocolate has 21 grams of sugar per serving.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough has 25 grams of sugar per serving.

Peanut Butter has 24 grams of sugar per serving.

Phish Food has 28 grams of sugar per serving.

All of those average out to around 24.3 grams per serving, which equals a half of a cup. That means with one scoop of ice cream, you will fulfill all of daily sugar needs. That is ridiculous!

But the thing is everybody knows that ice cream is bad for you but they keep eating it anyways.

If your ice cream addiction is going through the roof, come back on Monday for a new inventive way to keep the taste but not the sugar!

Nutella, the Nutty One

__________________________________________________

Nutella and toast, Nutella on a spoon, Nutella with an apple, the list goes on and on.

It is no lie that Nutella goes with practically everything. Many people would think that Nutella is a nutritious part of a nutritious breakfast. I mean it IS made with hazelnuts.

The problem with that logic is that in one serving of Nutella there are 20 grams of sugar! That is practically your whole days worth of sugar spread out on your morning toast. That is outrageous!

So next time you get out of bed craving that nutty spread, think twice.

The so CLIFF BARS

__________________________________________________

Have you ever thought of a Chocolate Chip Cliff Bar as a “healthy” snack?

Well, it actually has more than half of your daily sugar value. ONE Chocolate Chip Cliff Bar has 18 grams of added sugar. So if you eat 2 Cliff Bars, you have gone over the daily amount of sugar that doctors recommend that you eat — 24 grams.

So your healthy snack is not so healthy after all.

Angel Food Cake… or Demon Food Cake

___________________________________________________

Some of you may have had angel food cake before.

You know, the light, fluffy, spongecake that’s great with strawberries or chocolate sauce. But plain, it’s quite flavorless. However, did you know that even though it might not taste so sweet, it is still quite sugary.

Using a dry mix produces 15 grams of sugar per one 1.8 ounce serving, and that’s not even with sauce. Lindt Chocolate sauce has 14 grams of sugar in just 2 tablespoons! Combined that’s 29 grams of sugar, 5 grams over the recommended daily amount for teens and tweens.

There is also actually something called Devil’s Food cake, which is basically the opposite of Angel Food cake. It’s rich chocolate cake, with hot fudge, and even more sugary toppings. It’s not much healthier — 12.8 grams of sugar per ounce. Do a little math (multiply 12.8 by the 1.8  ounce serving from earlier) and you get 23 grams of sugar! I guess that’s why it’s called devil food cake.

Death-Fil-A 101

copy-of-sugar-slide-basic

I bet you’ve been to Chick-Fil-A and gotten a milkshake.

I also bet you don’t know the amount of sugar in any of the shakes. I’ll tell you:

  • 18 oz Chocolate milkshake: 111g
  • 18 oz Cookies and Cream milkshake: 100g
  • 18 oz Strawberry milkshake: 98g
  • 18 oz Vanilla milkshake: 95g

https://www.caloriecount.com/cc/search.php?searchpro=Chick-Fil-A+milkshake

24 grams of sugar is the amount that your supposed to have in a day. All of these shakes are about 4-5 days worth of sugar. When you add them all up, you get a total of 404 grams of sugar, which equals 101 grams on average of sugar per shake. I hope next time you want a shake, you don’t choose Chick-Fil-A. Make a healthier choice.

McDonald’s Milkshake vs Wendy’s Frosty

copy-of-sugar-slide-basiccopy-of-sugar-slide-basic

______________________________________________________________

We all know that McDonald’s can make you Mcfat (getting fat from McDonald’s).

Their meals are very unhealthy. But now, its time to look at their deserts or more specifically, their milkshakes! We are going to compare a 12 oz McDonald’s chocolate triple thick “Death”shake with a 12 oz chocolate frosty from Wendy’s.

According to my calculations, McDonald’s triple thick milkshake is 7.28 times worse than Wendy’s frosty.

Which Disastrously drink would you consume? Anyone would obviously choose what’s not McDonald’s. Which ever one you think tastes good might not be what it seems.

The double chocolaty chip creme Frappuccino with blended creme.

It may sound somewhat appetizing, and a good treat for the holiday’s, but in my experience with this drink, I just tasted straight up chocolate.

After further research, I found out that it has 52 GRAMS OF SUGAR plus 20 grams of fat! So take my advice, and never get this drink because of the amount of sugar. Plus, it’s a waste of money, and you can make it yourself with less sugar at home.

___________________________________________

Thanksgiving is approaching fast and I know that everyone is looking forward to one thing…

Black Friday! No, I’m joking, its Thanksgiving dinner. And we all know the highlight of the dinner is the Turkey. You may think that the Turkey doesn’t have any sugar in it and you would be correct. But what’s really the ticking time bomb of sugar is the cranberry sauce.

The thing that is always hard to spread over your Turkey has 21 grams of sugar per 1/4 cup (Serving Size).  So next time that you reach for another serving of the sauce think twice before pouring the whole can all over your plate. Happy Thanksgiving!

SugarBucks: Caffe Mocha with No Whipped Cream

_______________________________________________

It’s that time of year, it’s getting chilly and we all want Starbucks, just don’t get this…

The Caffe Mocha with soy milk and no whipped cream has 34 grams of sugar. That’s over one daily serving of sugar. You also have to think that this drink doesn’t have whipped cream. Its very high in sugar yet it doesn’t have all the extra stuff and flourishes. So next time you go to Starbucks and get a drink, make a healthier choice.
