_______________________________________________

It’s that time of year, it’s getting chilly and we all want Starbucks, just don’t get this…

The Caffe Mocha with soy milk and no whipped cream has 34 grams of sugar. That’s over one daily serving of sugar. You also have to think that this drink doesn’t have whipped cream. Its very high in sugar yet it doesn’t have all the extra stuff and flourishes. So next time you go to Starbucks and get a drink, make a healthier choice.

That’s right I’m flipping the saying, want to know why?

Halloween is a time to celebrate… not if you pass out for over dosing sugar. Every year Americans buy 600 million pounds of candy for Halloween!  That’s the equivalent of 6 Titanic ships! Imagine how much the average American eats every Halloween. Well the answer to that is 3.4 pounds.  The most popular being M&Ms, which has 31 grams of sugar per regular bag. So this Halloween think, is it a treat or a trick!

_______________________________________

Have you ever wanted a nice cold Mountain Dew on a nice average temperature day?

Mountain Dew has 276 grams of sugar in 2 liters! Even if you don’t drink all of this in a day, this still has way too much sugar. If you drink Mountain Dew, think twice about this absurd sugar killer. Not trying to spoil your appetite, but have you heard of Mounting Dew mouth?

It can really mess your mouth up so badly to the point you will not want to smile again!

Scientists have done tests on people from when they are babies to adults, and the results were not that good.

So is Mountain Dew really worth drinking most of the time?

Gatorade vs. Powerade

In the flood of new energy drinks, it is hard to keep track of all the sugar in them. In this comparison, we will be comparing two of the most popular brands; Gatorade vs Powerade!

Let the fight begin!

In the red corner coming in with 56 grams of sugar, is Gatorade Thirst Quencher! In the blue corner coming in with 28 grams of sugar, is Powerade!

Both of them are over the daily recommended sugar amount of 24 grams, but it seems like in this case Powerade is the winner!

Hold on a second; Let’s broaden our searches for a second match, to Gatorade 02. This type of Gatorade has only 18 grams per bottle. So, Gatorade 02 will be the best for you if you are looking for the least sugar in your drink.

___________________________________

As you know from other posts,  an average human is supposed to eat 24 grams of sugar a day. Did you know that Chili’s serves 104 grams of sugar in one Molten Chocolate Cake.

Isn’t that crazy!

That is 80 grams more sugar than you should have in an entire day. What’s even crazier is that if you split it up between four people, you would STILL eat 26 grams of sugar, which is 2 grams than the limit!

______________________________________________________

Just recently I found an article called 6 Surprising Sources of Sugar.  What really surprised me was this statistic:  “On average Americans consume 475 calories of added sugar every day (that’s 30 teaspoons).”

Think about this:  There are about 4 grams of sugar in a teaspoon. That means if you do the math, on average Americans consume 120 grams of sugar every day! If you are supposed to consume only 24 grams a day, that means you consume exactly 5 days of sugar every day.

Stated another way, the average American eats 5 TIMES the amount of sugar that they should every single day!

Sugar Charms Will Kill You!

Lucky Charms

____________________________________________________________

My family likes to have cereal for breakfast. My little brothers like to have Lucky Charms everyday. They say it’s sweet, but how? How much sugar is in Lucky Charms?

One cup of Lucky Charms has 13.3 g of sugar. 24 grams are one day worth of sugar. So if you had a cup of Lucky Charms for breakfast today, you already ate half of the sugar that you can eat.

Tim Horton’s Boston Cream Filled Doughnut

Wouldn’t you just die to eat a Boston Cream filled doughnut?

Good news… you will! This is because a Boston Cream filled doughnut has 11 grams of sugar. Since you are only supposed to consume no more than 24 grams of sugar a day, that means you have blown almost half a day’s worth of sugar on just one doughnut.

This sugary treat should be called a sugar filled doughnut, not cream filled. It is definitely not worth dying for.
