The so CLIFF BARS

__________________________________________________

Have you ever thought of a Chocolate Chip Cliff Bar as a “healthy” snack?

Well, it actually has more than half of your daily sugar value. ONE Chocolate Chip Cliff Bar has 18 grams of added sugar. So if you eat 2 Cliff Bars, you have gone over the daily amount of sugar that doctors recommend that you eat — 24 grams.

So your healthy snack is not so healthy after all.

_______________________________________

Have you ever wanted a nice cold Mountain Dew on a nice average temperature day?

Mountain Dew has 276 grams of sugar in 2 liters! Even if you don’t drink all of this in a day, this still has way too much sugar. If you drink Mountain Dew, think twice about this absurd sugar killer. Not trying to spoil your appetite, but have you heard of Mounting Dew mouth?

It can really mess your mouth up so badly to the point you will not want to smile again!

Scientists have done tests on people from when they are babies to adults, and the results were not that good.

So is Mountain Dew really worth drinking most of the time?

Only 24 Grams of Sugar a Day? Hehe- Oops!

______________________________________________________

Just recently I found an article called 6 Surprising Sources of Sugar.  What really surprised me was this statistic:  “On average Americans consume 475 calories of added sugar every day (that’s 30 teaspoons).”

Think about this:  There are about 4 grams of sugar in a teaspoon. That means if you do the math, on average Americans consume 120 grams of sugar every day! If you are supposed to consume only 24 grams a day, that means you consume exactly 5 days of sugar every day.

Stated another way, the average American eats 5 TIMES the amount of sugar that they should every single day!

design

The World Health Organization has released its first ever global report on diabetes. The results are frightening.

According to the WHO, the number of diabetes cases has nearly quadrupled over the last three decades. In 1980, there were 108 million adults with diabetes.  But in 2014, there were 422 million adults with diabetes.

Diabetes alone killed 1.5 million people in 2012, while high blood glucose led to another 2.2 million deaths.

In 1980, 5.6 percent of the Eastern Mediterranean region had diabetes.  In 2014, the percentage was 13.7. In 1980, 2.4 percent of the United States had diabetes.  In 2014, 9 percent of the United States had diabetes.

“Diabetes is a silent disease, but it is on an unrelenting march that we need to stop,” said Etienne Krug, a WHO official.

One way to stop the unrelenting march would be to grab a salad for lunch today.

_______________________________________________________

We all know that McDonald’s isn’t the healthiest restaurant but, did you know that their burgers actually have sugar in them?

Yes McDonald’s puts 7 grams of sugar in a cheeseburger.  So next time you go to McDonald’s you better be planning to put no ketchup on your burger because they stuff that stuff with sugar.

A Few Too Many

This might blow your mind…

Image - Total Sugar Per Day

___________________________________

Given that we’re supposed to eat 24 to 32 grams of sugar in a day, this statistic makes us rethink our sugar count. The average American eats 160 pounds of sugar per year which is the same as 199 grams of sugar per day.

Sweetin the sour

This video is about an edible tablet that has zero grams of sugar is supposed to make sour things sweet. That is amazing!

We all enjoy sweet things, but sometimes sugary food is not healthy for us. This video shows us a pill that will change your taste buds so that sour things taste sweet. Now instead of eating sugary foods, we can trick our taste buds into thinking sour foods are sweet.

One of the only problems is the price, and the amount of times you would have to eat it to keep things sweet. Also, someone might get addicted to the tablet. Those are the only problems that we came up with that could affect your body or mind. I think the fact that a tablet can make a non-sugary food taste sweet without adding sugar is incredible!

Gatorade VS. Water “The Healthy Choice”

Gatorade

___________________________________________

What would you choose, a nice tasty bottle of Gatorade or a simple bottle of water? Well a Gatorade has 56 grams of sugar in just one bottle of Gatorade (2 pints). Thats more than twice as much sugar you should have per day! In one bottle of water there is NO sugar. Even though it might not taste as good as a Gatorade, make the healthy choice.
